We got to the academy at about 5.30 and the doors opened at 6... Most people were under the age of 18 and most were Emos...
We got a place on the balcony and My American Heart (Above top) started at about ten to 7... They were really good, playing, Boys Grab your Guns, The shake and Tired and Uninspired If you want to hear their music check out their myspace page.... They put on a good show and enjoyed themselves..
Next up was Halifax,Above Left these were my favorite out of all the support bands... They had a lot of energy and I enjoyed their music... With songs like: Nightmare, Under Fire, Our Revolution and Snow in Hollywood. I hadn't heard of them before so was very impressed with them (My American heart had been played on Kerrang..)
Madina Lake came on just after 9... They had some totally random moments in their show near the start confetti fell from the ceiling, Then a little while later huge balloons full of confetti fell... (see pic)
As they have only released one album, "From them, Through us to You"
As they have only released one album, "From them, Through us to You"
They played all the songs off the album... So I knew all the songs...This was their first time in the main room at the academy and it was full.... I had this girl next to me who kept screaming and one of my ears is still buzzing 14 hours later....
They disappeared and came back on with masks on (see pic) and played here I stand.... They seem to have a brilliant time and the lead singer kept diving into the crowd to sing which they loved down stairs! He disappeared twice... He also kept throwing bottles of water into the crowd..
In their last song the lead guitarist jumped onto the drummer sending the drum kit everywhere.... It was a crazy but brilliant show!
I give it 4 stars....
